There is nothing like cruising to confirm that it is a small world. Have you ever booked a cruise only to find that a friend, family member, or neighbor will be sailing on the same ship at the same time.

This is my story. My wife and I live in Sweden but I was raised in Sacramento, CA. Today I saw that someone in my roll-call group had booked their flight from Sacramento. When I told her I went to school there, she mentioned her father's name and said that he taught Political Science at the college I went to. He was my teacher. What a small world it is. It will be fun to meet her and her family.
Nice story!
Strange how often this sort of thing happens!

This has happened to me a few times.
In December 2007, I found out that two friends were also on the same voyage, when I met one of them in town and asked if they had any cruises booked.
When I was on QE2's last voyage in October 2008, I was stood on deck watching the sail away, when I heard a voice behind me say "what are you doing here?" I turned around and it was a lady I know from home.
How is this for a small world, a friend of mine from another forum, who lives in New Jersey was onboard QE2. My friend was at a table for 6 and was sat next to a friend of mine. It must have been quite a surprise for them both.
I have also met some people who used to live next door to me and people from the same town. It really is a small world.

Wouldn't it be funny to cruise with your neighbor and not even know it until you got home?
We had a close one with our neighbors!
Last year we were getting the house stuff ready so we could leave on our cruise. We went to our neighbors to see if they would mind watching out for anything suspicious & found out they were leaving on a cruise at the same time!
It ended up they were on a different ship than us but the same location, port, airline, and hotel!
Good one. You guys will have to check with each other before you go to make sure you have a house sitter.
On our first cruise we met a member of the staff when we got on the ship whose badge said she was from Texas. We asked her where and she said "a small town outside Dallas that we probably had never heard about" We asked where and she said "Rockwall" Rockwall is located less than 10 miles from our house and we spend a lot of time over there!
On our TA we spent a few days in London and naturally got lost and asked for directions. The person we asked immediately caught my wife's Texas accent and wanted us to meet his buddy who was also from Texas. We started gabbing and found out that he lived less than a mile from our house- two developments over. Really small world!

Speaking of other people. We met two Canadian couples on different days who lived in Victoria. We introduced them to each other and they discovered they lived in the same neighborhood and never met.
