Not much point of having one if you don't use it. A great place to relax, have breakfast or dinner, enjoy the sun or shade, get away from the noise up on deck. And I imagine other folks have other reasons.

i had a balcony on hawaiian cruise and never stepped foot out there. my husband smoked out there. i had a balcony on another cruise and again, never used it. i got tired of paying the premium for a balcony and started using interior rooms and works because i really don't like light when i sleep BUT i have a balcony on my 4 dayer next week (well in 10 days) and think i might like it and go back to getting balconies.

I use my balcony in good or bad weather...love it out there. Of course I need the balcony because I have a habit, but would still be out there come rain or shine!

I use it to smoke and to drink, and sometimes just to take a nap in the sun. Sometimes I get tired of the crowds and use it just to have a quiet place to relax.

    We use ours a LOT!
In the morning when we first get up to see what the weather is like --sometimes for breakfast, too.
Anytime we come back to the cabin we go out on the balcony for a bit.
After lunch we always sit out for awhile, maybe play cards and usually doze off for a nice afternoon siesta.
My absolutely favorite time is before bed! Love to sit or lay in the lounger and look at the night sky. You can see so many more stars when you are at sea away from the pollution and city lights.

Ah yes, the balcony. Love that balcony. We spend more time on the balcony than we do in the cabin. Especially since we discovered afts. To die for.

I spend most of my cabin time on my balcony. I usually have either my camera, binoculars or a book in hand. I sleep on it after lunch and have a glass of wine on it before dinner. I'm out there first thing in the morning and sometimes in the middle of the night. I love having a balcony!!!

Rain or Shine, we use our Balcony many times during the day and night for many different things.. Mainly just to step outside and have our own little private outdoor setting..

We would have to catch a really good deal or a ship without Balconies to not get one!

I had to go with sometimes yes/no. Now if you're talking aft balconies (especially m-class X ships) then yes, we spend lots of time on those big windless balconies. But, if you're on the side it depends on itinerary. If a warm one then yes, but a cool one then not so much, it's mainly for the view through the bigger window.
