We use it quite a bit no matter what the weather. I have never had on that was not covered so even rain is not a problem. Looking out late at night is something I have always done on cruises. In the old days before balconies, we had to go up on deck to do it.

I had to go with Sometimes Yes -- Sometimes No!

Our favorite time to use our balcony is when returning from a day in port. Often, we are too grubby to be elsewhere but not ready to get bathed and changed.

On many At Sea days we never sit out there ... but it's nice to know we could if we wished.

If we had a table outside AND the wireless internet was strong enough to reach our balcony, DH would be out there all the time. I didn't click the top choice, because our cruises lately had too many ports to take full advantage of the balcony, but I chose the next one.

We relax there after dinner, we read out there, we have a before dinner drink out there, we take our prom, I mean formal pictures out there, and while we don't sleep on our balcony, I have napped out there.

Once we cruised with our first balcony there was never cruising again without one!

We use it in good AND bad weather. I love sitting out on the balcony in the middle of a storm and listening to the waves at night. The past 2 cruises I was on the seas were pretty rough and I'd rather be outside than inside when that happens.

There is also the benefit of getting beautiful pictures of the sunrise, possible marine life, coastline when coming into port, etc. without fighting for space at the railings if you're on a ship with a limited amount of balconies!

I'm the one who has never had a balcony. We have always booked insides or OVs. Hubby prefers sleeping in dark rooms so insides work best for him. Plus, we don't want to deal with smoke if we have a balcony. We usually try to be out of our cabin and about the ship most of the time anyway.

that is exactly what happened to me on infinity to hawaii on my balcony. guy next door either smoked a pipe all night or left his balcony light on all night and shined right in if we wanted to leave the door open. after that i started booking interior rooms.

WE love being out on the verandah.

Even in cold weather ports -- like Alaska -- we will be out there with coats on looking at the arrival at ports, the sceenery.

I'm an early riser, so am out on the balcony daily watching the sunrise. It is awesome! Really peaceful; a great way to start a day!
