We had the pleasure of cruising aboard the old HA. Rotterdam on the Alaska run just before she was retired.

The decor was a delight. I never walked down a stateroom corridor without imagining a 'Lady in red' slipping into a stateroom up ahead, and wouldn't have been surprised to run into Hercule Poirot in one of the comfortable lounges.

She was a grand old lady, the Rotterdam. Just a memory now, but what a memory!

We also sailed Rotterdam V her last Alaska season! Our cruise was May 30,1997 southbound from Seward. Loved that ship. We had cabin B31 at the front of the ship and it was a perfect place to view everything.
