Thread: Going ashore

What do you do about going ashore when in a port and not doing a tour?

I am always up early and on the first shuttle bus/tender that way I can look around and still be back on time for lunch.

If we are not doing a tour we take it easy and wait until the tour frency has died down before we go ashore.

I'm with Lars we'll wait until the crowds thin and then we'll get off of the ship.

I seldom do tours anymore, I think they are kind of a rip off. We wait for the crowds to thin and then get off the ship and just walk around or take a cab.

Depends am I doing an early tour than I am forced to wait in line, but I prefer to wait until mad rush is over with before getting off.

We'll wait, too.

Unless it's someplace like Nassau, in shich case, we probably will stay on the ship

Normally, we seldom have had a problem going ashore whenever we wish unless it's a tender port.....

We are usually on a tour so get off when we are scheduled. Don't do tours in the Caribbean anymore so just get off when we feel like it and that is after our coffee and breakfast.

I feel it is only right to take my time! Its vacation after all.
