I have my eye on a cruise that does not leave until 29th March 2011, not booked it yet, but giving it very serious thought. Fort Laurderdale to Southampton, via Bermuda and various other ports on Queen Victoria.

The Emerald Princess for 12 days. Leaves Southhampton to Guernsey, ChannelIslands, Cork Ireland. Liverpool England, Belfast Northern Ireland, Glasgow Scotland, sea day, Inverness Scotland, Edinburgh Scotland, sea day, Paris/Normandy France, and back to Southhampton, England. We are going out early to have 3 nights in London.
I am excited to see all these places but not happy about the rain I am sure we will encounter throughout. I will hope for sun but do have a pancho and small umbrella that I will bring along.

I don't really have a time period so much as a tax refund and a good deal based on a date somewhere. So far, the best deals I've found have been the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas and the week or two immediately following the New Year. As soon as I have my tax refund in hand, I'm ready to book the best thing available.
Heading out on our second cruise in Jan 2010. First cruise was also booked a year out, because I wanted to go when it was the coldest where I live. Also, that way I could pay in installments.
I must say that when I started this survey I was not expecting so many of you to book a year or more out. The more I learn about pricing, cabin choice, and planning the more I understand why you do this. I booked my first cruise about 8 months out. The prices have remained about the same but I will keep a close eye on things inside 75 days. I expect some of the folks who booked early will back out when final payment becomes due.

Some lovely ports. Hopefully it will not rain for you, it's lovely and sunny today.
When you go to Liverpool, the maritime museum is well worth a visit and is only a short work from the cruise terminal. Best of all it's free entry.
There is a local group in Greenock (Glasgow) that runs a free coach tour of the area which is very interesting. They will be waiting to meet people at the dockside, but you will need to be early as spaces are limited.

Stephen, if that had been a Cunard ship sailing in '11, I would beg my wife to say yes to it.....
Neal, it is a Cunard ship

No, I was looking at Houch's ports of call then realized it was on a Princess ship, not a Cunard.
We got the Cunard books a few days ago but have not looked at them in depth yet. Economically we will not be able to take a cruise this year but are looking for one in '11.
