Yes, Ken Costa does offer the kids sail free... but I think their kids programs are lacking... although I honestly haven't researched it recently.

I am sailing the Orchestra in April, for more than a few reasons...
I priced RCI... family of four in basic balcony well over $3k
I priced Princess and Carnival and NCL... well over $3k
(I wanted a balcony)

Then comes along MSC... I have a cat 11 balcony... for four people... $2300! What I saved in the cruise, paid for the airfare (almost)...
I will go back to read that article that was posted... but, I do believe that any cruise can be enjoyable... we are going with another family, so my son will be well occupied with his hockey buddy...

I also think it will require a knowledgable Travel Agent to help promote MSC... our TV is not inundated with ads for them, so a travel agent must have first hand knowledge and an interest in the cruise line.

Also, it isn't just for families with kids... it is a great choice for family reunions as they will cater to those with kids and those without. Their prices are quite reasonable. I have some group space for the April cruise and the prices are GREAT.

I agree with you, Dolores, any cruise can be enjoyable. That's a good price for your family.

I have not seen any MSC TV ads, and I have not watched the Travel Channel recently. I've suggested them to people and in two cases, I was barely able to finish my suggestion when they replied "nah, they're Italian, no way".
