When you decide on your cruises, do you prefer to book what's familiar or are you looking for something new?

I voted new, I would like to see something new no matter what it is.

I voted new also. Be it new ports, areas or ships. Exploration cruises would be the best "new" thing that could happen.
I have been around the world a few times already and tho I would like to go back to some of the places I have been before, its the out of the ordinary that would make my heart tick.

I love snorkeling the Caribbean, and DH just loves the ship, so I voted not usually.
However, whenn the economy picks up, I may starat looking at either a Panama Canal or Alaska cruise, as those are both things we have talked about from time to time.
Not usually, after 33 cruises, and DH not being able to fly for long hours anymore, we stick to mostly what we enjoy, the ships and certain ports of call. Living in FLorida we don't have too far to drive for 3 ports.![]()

I voted other.
Having done 36 cruises, most of the big cruises we have done. We did the Baltic, Mediterranean, Alaska (twice), Panama, Mexican Riviera & 4 longer Southern Carib. The other big ones I would want to do are Asia or Australia. I probably will never do them because we have 5 timeshares. So getting the money to do those isn't an option.
We usually now just do the Caribbean. We love the ports & the beach. Other places we want to go such as Hawaii, we use our timeshares.![]()
I said no as we really like Princess and they seem to have cruises where we want to go. I do like to look for different places to cruise and I wouldn't object to using a different cruise line if the price was right and it had ports I wanted to visit.

We have done both. We don't mind returning to familiar ports, but right now we do feel bored with the familiar and we are ready for new and different experiences.
Not a big fan of Mexico, but unfortunately most of the cruises out of San Pedro (our closest port) involve Mexican ports. So I was glad to hear hubby say he was tired of the same ports too.
We're considering two defintely different cruises for the upcoming years, but both involve long flights. But we may repeat the Hawaiian cruise, which would be okay as we enjoyed the last one. Most likely it would be on a different ship.
As for ships, I've been on the Holiday twice and hubby on the Ecstacy twice. So would look forward to a different ship for the next cruise. There's nothing like the excitement of exploring a ship for the first time. I just wish some of the newer Princess ships would come over here on the West Coast, but they would have to sail around Cape Horn first.

Voted OTHER!
Sometimes we really enjoy trying different cruise lines and ships ... also new ports of call.
Other times we want to do the tried and familiar. We look forward to going back to our favorites.![]()
