Has the current economic situation affected your cruising budget, habits, or plans?
Have you already cut back, or are you considering doing so?
In what ways?
Or do you think the whole thing will just blow over sooner than later?
I don't expect to make any changes at all. It hasn't affected me.
I haven't made any changes YET, but am afraid I might need to.
Not cutting back on cruises, but will spend less on board
I will be cutting out excursions or spending less in ports of call.
I will be taking less expensive / shorter cruises, or cruise from ports closer to home
I have or will cut back on the number of cruises I book
i have already cancelled at least one previously booked cruise
I won't be cruising at all until the economic picture gets brighter
Other - Please explain
There's a problem with the economy????

Multiple picks allowed on the poll!

It hasn't caused any changes YET. I don't expect it will be the economy that causes us to reduce cruising, but rather age and health.
We have already stopped booking anymore cruises for next year, and will have to cut back on money spent in ports and only doing one tour this cruise coming up. If we do find we are able to do a shorter cruise, then will probably book one sometime next year.
We laso have a new grand baby coming in January, so will be making a special trip to Alabama to meet the newsest addition to our family!![]()

It hasn't been the economy that kept us from cruising in the past few years, but I know that hubby has trepedation about the economy in the near future, that it may not recover very fast (he hopes he's wrong). We've talked about doing another Hawaiian cruise for our next cruise, whenever that is. The good thing is that it doesn't involve any flights. And we're pretty good about not spending a lot onboard. So we would probably do the same on the next cruise.

We have no cruises booked. We want to do some land trips. But if the land trips are too expensive, and there are some great cruise deals in the future, we may be back at cruising!
No problem for us when it comes to the economy and our vacation, so we will be taking cruise or land vacation no matter what happens.
Are you planning a cruise to St.Thomas V.I.
Let the guy's @ Spiderman Island Tours make it more memorable 4 u.

I haven't made any changes yet, but we'll see down the road. I have Hawaii booked for 2009, and mostly paid for before we go. I've booked the Ruby Princess in March of 2010 (great deal by the way, see the GREAT DEALS section for details) and it's far enough out that I hope to be able to pay it off in advance too. However, investments are down about 30% so I won't be digging into those for awhile.
Well since I only go on one cruise a year with family it won't effect me much. We always go on cruises that are between 10-15 days. Our big cruise was the 15 day to Hawaii with airfare for 9 which was quite expensive so I could see us cutting down to a 7 day cruise but not because of the economy directly.
