Judy, we did our Alaskan cruise on The Radiance. It was our first cruise.
We both got hooked! Once you experience The Brilliance, you will understand. I honestly don't remember a coffee station when we were on The Radiance in May. But the room service is awesome..just tell them to bring 2 Large pots and he can have coffee for hours.

    Thanks CruisePrincess, houch and hanna

I appreciate all of your opinions. If this was just me, Carnival wouldn't even be on the list

As to the Northbound/Southbound choice, I do understand your advice, but you don't know my DH For him, flying to Vancouver is way too long of a flight, even with a non-stop flight! If I had him flying to Fairbanks at the start, I'd never hear the end of it, since there will be at least one connection.

By the time our cruise and land vacation is over, he'll have loved Alaska so much that the flight times will have been worth it, but that will not be his feeling on the way there! I gotta work with what I got

Since this is DH's "Trip of a Lifetime", I really want him to be happy with the ship we choose, he keeps comparing Explorer to Carnival Legend (Spirit Class Ship) since these were his last 2 cruises and unfortunately he likes the Legend better. He even told me that he liked the Tropicale better than Explorer

While onboard the Brilliance I'm hoping there will be a coffee beverage area on the pool deck, and I plan to take tons of pictures of it, since this was his biggest complaint.

He will not be with me on the Med cruise, once again, something about long flight times and no desire to see Europe DH is not afraid to fly, he just doesn't like flying for longer than 3 hours; a Philly to Florida flight is fine by him
Judy It's hard to SOAR with Eagles, if you Fly with Turkeys!

We have done several Alaskan cruise -- including Northbound cruises.

We prefer HAL -- any ship will do.

Cruising is a wonderful way to enjoy retirement!!
    Stopped counting after 110 cruises.
