I didn't quite know how to answer this one... I have not yet reached that point. The longest cruise we have taken has been 10 days, and that didn't do it foro me. So, I voted two weeks... only because I know it must be longer than 10 days.
Now, DH is a different story. FIVE DAYS. It's clockwork. On every cruise, on DAY 5, he starts asking "when are we going home?"
I have already planned our first cruise after retirement.
It may change a bit because it will not be until about 2019.
I would try to find a ship that is doing the following. Start with B2B E/W Caribbean followed by a 2 week Panama Canal trip. Add in a side trip to Hawaii (if they are still doing that) Then up the coast and a B2B N/S Alaska. That would be about 9 weeks.

I've planned mine also - a TA to Barcolona, than a Western Med followed by a Eastern Med. Than a few land days in Egypt and a few more in Mykonos. Fly to England and rent a car for a 2 week land tour of the British Isles. Catch another TA back to the states. Might throw in a few days in Isreal, Paris, Switzerland, and/or Germany.
Just trying to figure out how much longer I have to work to be able to afford that vacation! Minimum will be the Western and Eastern Med cruise.

Would love to do a World Cruise -- 130 days -- sounds great to me. But with DH's health and all his medications -- we couldn't possibly get enough to last that long. And trying to make arrangments to get the meds in various ports -- I wouldn't even want to attempt that in case anything went wrong.
Do not know your situation and no need to know you personal life, but have you considered speaking to your doctor. It might be possible and maybe he can write you a large enough script?

I have not thought it out, but I would love to do a world type cruse. 90 days would be the least I would do. Of course I am only 30, so I am looking at a min of 2035 ish?

Saw a show about this and fell in love. I would do it but I am lacking one important resource - money.

I'm guessing its not a doctor problem, but an insurance problem. Most will not fill more than 90 days worth at a time. How are we supposed to cruise for longer than that???

Who does that, LOL??? It works for meds you don't have to take everyday at least. We have to mail order all of our Rx that we take daily but they will let us refill 90 days at a time and we can refill again about a month before the 90 days is up so I guess theoretically we could manage to have about a 4 month supply at a time. Still not long enough to do a world cruise or anything.
