I snorkel nearly every place I go. Snorkeling in Alaska doesn't sound very appealing...
Same with us!

I voted for Alaska, though we haven't gone yet, for a couple of reasons...
I can drive to the port to go to Alaska
For me, a cruise, I think, will be more about the time at sea, and seeing the scenery, than ports. We are doing ports (already booked on excursion, probably the only one), but the time on the ship is more what I'm looking for.
I'm not a big crowds kinda person, and the Caribbean ports all seem a bit...much.
We are thinking that maybe, our next cruise will be Mexican Riviera (we can get to Los Angeles without flying, too... or, a short flight at most), but that seems less crowded, as well.
After we collect our Lotto/PowerBall winnings, we plan on taking a World Cruise
Even if I hadn't met my honey on a cruise to Alaska (22 years ago), Alaska would still be our favorite cruise/destination. The beauty is unparalled by any other in our opinion. It is our favorite ... however, with cruise pricing being higher we don't go there as often as we would like.

Does that mean you actually MET your honey, on the Love Boat? How incredibly cool that is!!!
I voted for the Caribbean, although I loved Alaska. It was my first cruise and got me hooked. It is beautiful especially combined with a land stay first, which we did. If you haven't been on an Alaska cruise, you need to put that on your to do list.
Now about the Caribbean. To me it exemplifies the cruise experience. Warm days and nights, the steel drum music, beautiful ocean beaches, sunning on the pool deck with a fru fru drink. walking around the beautiful islands and smelling the flowers, living in shorts and sandles and sun dresses! What you must also know is that I live in MN (where we just had a spring blizzard up north and snow flurries here in the city today). Thus escaping our winter to the sunny Caribbean is a bit of heaven for me! I am especially missing that now as we did the Baltic last fall and are doing the Med this fall....thus no money left over for the Caribbean for a while.

Yes, I met himl on the Pacific Princess (The original Love Boat) the first day at breakfast. Cruise was 7 nights/8 days. We spent as much time as possible together on the cruise. He got to meet one of my best friends and I one of his. After the cruise he went back to CA, I went back to WA state and we got engaged over the phone 3 weeks later and married 3 months after that. We've been married now for 21 1/2 years. Truly are soul mates. Both were in our 30s when we met and neither of us had been married before. It was just meant to be.
One of our funniest stories is that we never dated. We actually were engaged before he took me out!!!! LOL Everything was basically free on the cruise (food, entertainment etc) and altho we spent a great deal of time together, we also spent a great deal of time with a wonderful group of people we met on the cruise that week. It was a true fairy tale come true .... thanks for letting me share. We both love telling our "how we met" story.
