Our first cruises - back-to-back - was on a ship that didn't have any balconies. So - no choice.

Third cruise was an outside - good.

Fourth cruise we booked a mini-suite - DH loved it!!

Within a couple of more cruises we moved up to a full suite with big verandah. Could never backwards now.

Like balconies and outsides, but usually book an inside so I can afford to go once a year!

We prefer a balcony and get one at least once a year, more if there is a great deal. We still book insides so we can go more often
