Thread: Poll Of The Day 8/31/05 - Purchasing Pictures

If you cruise frequently, soon you'd be covered up in pictures!

We have bought the formal pix, cuz we never dress up at home. But only 1 pose, otherwise we couldn't spend money on other stuff. I think if I'm going to get all gussied up, I should have a rememberance. If I could operate our digital with any expertise, might forgo getting the purchased ones, but alas, klutz with the digital.

there was a photographer onboard who walked around taking pix, we only purchased 2 of them, one when we boarded and one when we were all dressed up.

We've been on so many cruises, we stopped buying the pictures...

We only bought a portrait from the first formal night (we had 3!). all the "impromptu" pictures were so hideous that they got ripped up immediately and thrown into their bins...YUCK!

the ones that I like that RCI does are the pictures when you get off the ship at each port of call. they put that nice border around the picture with the date you were in the city, the name of the city, and the border has pictures of unique items about the city. i usually am suckered into buying those

I couldn't answer the poll. We only buy a portrait if it is good. Not all cruises do we get the picture taken.
All other pictures we tell them no thanks, we don't want our picture taken.

It all depends on the moment if I buy or not....If I am having a great night (i.e. good hair, great dress and a good martini ) then I will buy the picture but if the day has been okay (i.e. rough seas, dress does not fit anymore and I did not get my martine ) then I do not buy!

It's never my intention to buy any pictures, but I do usually end up purchasing one or two. I'm not very photogentic and the ship's photographers are pretty skilled at taking some decent photos of me. Usually the dining room photos are the ones I end up buying. But, you're right, they are way overpriced.

I also don 't buy any..............maybe a formal picture every 2 years
