Voted Other It Depends ..... Maybe should have voted Balcony since that's what we normally book.

Several years ago we were upgraded from a balcony cabin to a very nice suite with a big balcony. We only used our balcony once in the fourteen days. (Also, no matter how nice the cabin/balcony my DH rather be on the Open Deck with others around... but knows I like to have a balcony so he doesn't care what I book.)

Now ... I look at our itinerary and only book a balcony if there are times when either of us will actually use it. Does that make sense to any of you?

yes- LOL, LuLu! When we were going on a ship that had an itinerary of 6 ports in 7 days, we figured we wouldn't be in our balcony- so that is why we didn't book one- it wouldn't be worth the money to us to book one if we wouldn't use it- I have no problem going back and forth- but I did find I really liked it! coffee and journal or book in the early AM and DH asleep in bed was great!

Ilove the balconys and voted that as my favorite. First 2 cruises were inside rooms. I survived but didn't much care for them. A bit of claustraphobia, too dark, and I would have to get dressed and go to outside deck to see what the weather was like and what I wanted to wear.
Since I have had 4 balconies and 4 ocean views. Sure glad we had balcony on the Baltic. I think they had the air off as we had it as low as it would go and it still was too warm, thus we opened the balcony door and kept it open all cruise. Being from MN with the temps in the 40's and 50's we sure didn't need any heat.
I hope the air will be working on our Med cruise this Aug as we booked an outside room.
I would do balcony all the time if I could afford it. A suite is out of the question for my budget!

We have always booked an inside stateroom, not really for the price but more for the fact that we don't spend that much time in our stateroom - we only get changed and sleep in it - other than that we are out and about. That's probably why when we come off a cruise we are in need of a few extra days vacation to unwind.

Cool What type of cabin?

Isn't it great that we all are different and have our personal reasons to make a choice. We spend alot of time in our room so, thus the "balcony" choice. It's the cruise experience that really counts and it seems one of the things we have in common is that we are all pretty "positive" people and enjoy travel. Hope to see you on a future cruise.
