I voted for 1 year because that is the average for us. Have done as much as 18 months and as few as 4 months. Right now waiting for all the Panama Canal for Fall 09 to come out to book our next cruise.

I went with the 2+, I like the idea of having that much time to pay the cruise off, of course the waiting is hard.

We've booked as late as 6 weeks before a cruise.
But, the cruises we go on now we book the minute the books open to get the best price and the cabin we want however far ahead that is.
We're doing mostly transatlantics and one of a kind cruises.

The latest we've booked is 1 week before the cruise.
The furthest out we've booked 17 months.

With Alaska & Hawaii you have to book early to be able to get a minimum of a balcony cabin.

We are already thinking Hawaii for Fall 2009. Figure they will post cruises the beginning of April of just before of this year.
