Looks like the majority own their own tux.
With the airline restrictions on weight and the new fees for checked bags, have any of you seriously considered not taking the tux, but only taking a suit instead?
I am thinking about this for when I fly to Miami in 2011 for my Queen Victoria voyage. I think I will be ok, if it comes to it, I could always travel in a suit, one less thing to carry. I can always get is dry cleaned on board if needed.![]()
I too have been seriously thinking about not taking my tux on our next cruise (whenever that might be) Between increased baggage fees and security hassles for carry ons. it is a genuine pain.
Almost wants to make me want to drive to the port.
for myself this is simple ;
suit = work
tux = fun.
no contest.![]()

Char, I don't think there are many that would consider taking a suit & Tux. So taking a suit instead of a Tux does not cut down the weight by very much. Was on the RCL - Indy a few weeks ago, many of the younger guys wore jeans & tees in the dining room every evening, except formal. So no need to take a suit & Tux, for me Tux for formal & polo or Hawaiian shirts w/slacks the other nights.
