    Live Music and Musicians

What do you think about having musicians playing music in the lounges, on the pool deck, and at the production shows?

I think it's a good idea, Patty. Don't most cruise lines do this already?

Perhaps they could schedule the live musicians to play more frequently. Sometimes the music isn't for a long enough period of time to really enjoy it.

Definitely love the live music. Wish HAL would play more Live music around the pools. Lido pool - for an hour at lunch time. Aft pool - taped music unless it is a sailaway, then the music is live.

There is nothing like live music. Especially if it is good! The only thing I do not like is that nasal country singing they often have in the lounge on Celebrity. I really can't listen to it! But I guess I am in the minority because they seem to hire this type of musician for every cruise.

And the key is, it has to be good! I've heard some pool groups that were really awful, couldn't carry a tune in a basket, yet there they are.

We really enjoy the pianist or string quartet in the atrium area before dinner. Kind of sets the tone for dinner. One cruise even had a pianist in the dining room, playing quietly all evening.

Live music is the best when it is good. It doesn't even have to be great, as long as it is good, it works for me. I would choose live versus CD/Tape/8-Track any day.

For sure live music!! It is part of the whole cruise experience!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Are you old enough to remember 8-tracks?
I still have a player but most of my tapes are stretched out....
