Maybe busy with holiday stuff. we always get quiet this time of year!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

The one thing that irks me is that the cruiseline put out these guidelines and then someone walks up to the dining room underdressed and are allowed in. Seems if the lines are going to let any dress into the dining room, then they shouldn't post their guidelines.

    I agree!

AND if everyone who cruises would recognize the type of cruise they are booking, then we wouldn't have folks showing up in attire that is not in line with the ambiance of the evening.

We have been on a dozen or so cruises, the majority on Celebrity. We both enjoy getting dressed up on formal nights; DH bought a tux just for cruises, mostly. It doesn't ruin our cruise when others don't dress, but Celebrity should enforce the dress code in the dining room. There are other more casual venues for dining for those who don't want to dress up.
But the brouhaha on the DS is just hysterical... people can't say much at all without being rudely talked to or talked to angrily!
So, over here, I am certainly enjoying this civilized discussion!

And I would really like to see the poll that was posted, but I guess we can all guess what it might have said.

    Have a good evening!

Although I am a little dissapointed when I see shorts in the dining room for dinner, I do not feel that it ruins my vacation.

    Ummm very interesting post here...
I love to dress up on cruises.. I love doing the dining room... Hubby does not like ties, he will wear a suit with a very nice turtle neck shirt.. and he looks great.. I feel he is doing his part of being formal ...
But for those who complain about shorts in the dining room... let me tell you a secret...

On my cruise on Freedom ship... my clothes did not arrive on the ship... I had NO clothes the whole cruise.. I wore my shorts to the dinning room... and many people were very loud, and made some rude comments, so I could hear.... It was not my fault I had no clothes... And I paid for my meals in the dining room, and believe me I was going to eat them in the dining room...They did not have any clothes my size on the ship .... or in port.... And believe me I try'd to do some shopping in every port... with no luck.. Lucky I had a friend on board who gave me her new swimsuit.. and she wore her older one.. So at least I could go in the pool and hot tubs... The ship was nice about doing my laundry daily.. and I mean daily..... so I was clean, but only had a few items in my carry on to wear on a seven day cruise... I did make the best of it... but I did go and cry after dinner when rude people would make rude comments about me in the dining room in shorts... I hope this will help some of you really think about being rude to ones in dining room on formal nights in shorts.. It could be that is the only clothes they received on board.. And they have feelings too...
