    Do you Sanitize?

How concerned are you about germs on ships? Does the possibiloity of 'Noro' freak you out?

Waht procautions (if any) do you take, and how far do you take them? Do you think your own actions play a significant role in protecting you and your family from contracting an unpleasant disease?

Yup, I wipe down all the surfaces as soon as I get in the cabin and wash hands often and use saniizer wipes before and after buffet!! I was impressed on the freedom, they were very agressive in wiping down the ship all week
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I am constantly using my hand cleaner.................so many will use the santizer as soon as they sit down at the table...................the smartest thing to do, is to use it after the food has arrived and you have seasoned with salt and pepper...............the menus, along with the salt and pepper shakers, have to be filthy......................

I wash my hands often and use the ship supplied hand sanitizer. I have carried Purel in my purse in the past, but on the last couple of cruises have not. So far, we have not gotten sick from the ship.

I see people around me with hand sanitizers. I bought it but forget it at home! If I should remember to take it, I will forget to use it! But now that you bring it to my attention, I will put it in my purse today!

On the ship, I wash my hands as usual. Before entering a dining area, I use the provided "SHPRITZ". I trust that whatever cleaner they use in the cabin/bathroom should be good enough. We can be soooo careful, then one slip-up and BAM!

I play duplicate bridge. It's the worst thing for catching bugs. You touch cards that so many others have touched. It is impossible to clean your hands after each deck.

We do our best and hope for the best.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness on the Star last January. They even had people standing there to "encourage" those who hadn't used the sanitizer on the way into the buffet...I never even thought of menus or s/p shakers...We didn't get sick and there didn't seem to be any on the ship.

I wash hands as often as able (just as I do in my daily life) and use the sanitizers on the ship. I am not concerned about that or any other virus. Actually there are more viruses floating around my work building. I have worked in health care all my life, never gave much thought to catching anything and was never sick. In 42 years of working I missed 4 weeks for a major surgery and 1 1/2 weeks for a minor surgery and the problems leading up to it. Other than that the occasional sick days I have taken are 10 or less. I am in an office building now and I notice very little hand washing as compared to hospitals, clinics, etc where I have worked previously).

I wash hands often, use sanitizers (I carry germ x, purell etc in a small bottle. Fits the pants pocket.) Cleanliness is a good thing but I feel some carry it into paranoia. But to each his or her own.

Upon entering our cabin, I used the hand sanitizer wipes on everything from the light switches to the door knobs. At least at that point, I know my cabin is fairly clean. Can't do much about the people on the ship and their cleanliness or non-cleanliness.
