I said other because it depends on the port, whether we have been there before, what port it is.......etc.............we have done everything listed before including stay on the ship..........

other- We take a walk into a port, usually get something cold to drink, In an hour or so we are back on the ship!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Of course it depends on the port, but usually we just get off the ship for a little shopping and some drinks. We're not real big on excursons. We like to soak up a little of the local color ... well as much as you can when over run with TOURISTS!

It depends on where we are docked. If it is a place where there is a lot of local culture to soak up or so many things to see that you need a guide...I love to take those excursions. I like the local guide to tell me what I am looking at and the history behind it, etc. On the other hand, if I went somewhere where there is less to do or learn and rather it's all about relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty I would still get off the ship but would do it on my own.

It all depends on the port. If it is a place I have never been, I'll get off and do a little exploring. But I ususally only do 1 shore excursion per trip. For me, the ship is the destination.

Even if I've been to a port before, there's still something I haven't seen or done. I like to explore on my own or on an excursion, shop, try the local food, drink or just sit on a beach. I have yet to stay on the ship even in my least favorite port.
