FREE Diamonds - how does THAT grab you?

Costa Cruises is giving away a free diamond necklace (value: $1,000.00) each week on each of their two ships sailing the Caribbean this winter.

DTEAILS HERE: http://www.cruiselinefans.com/costa-...08-season.html (Costa to Give Diamonds Away on Each Caribbean Sailing in 2007-2008 Season)

Is this enough of an enticement to lure you into at least trying this line?

    Why or why not?

I voted MAYBE. It would depend on price, itinerary and departure port. If they all 3 were good, then I would sail and if I won a diamond necklace that would be the icing on the cake!

Well, if anyone just needs more information about Costa Cruises, there's quite a bit to be found on our Costa Forum:

    http://www.cruiselinefans.com/costa-cruise-line/

And if you don't see what you are looking for, you can always pose a question there for our Costa Guide, MD11F

I never win anything. For the past 8 weeks I've been trying to win a cruise on Princess and didn't win one.

Me, either. And me, too. (On the Princess Cruise)

    But you never know . . .

What is your take on the diamond necklace thing, Heather? Does it pique your interest at all?

I wouldn't choose a cruise on the basis that I MIGHT win a diamond necklace. If it were a sure thing, maybe. Although probably not. Who's to say that I will LIKE the necklace?

I am untemptable. Besides, I don't think a diamond necklace would look that good on me. If I were to choose a Costa cruise, it would be based on itinerary and cost, nothing else.

Call me greedy but I would want a Diamond Necklace that costs more. So It really doesn't interest me at all to book a Costa cruise. Now on the other hand if it were a surprise while I was onboard and Costa said Hey were gonna give away a Diamond Necklace worth $xxxxx.xx (notice how many x's there are or have the first number begin with a higher number other 1 but keep it in the single thousand digits). Then cool.

Princess does a Diamond giveaway on most of their cruises (like a Diamond Braclet from Diamonds International). So really the Costa giveaway is nothing new.

    the itinerary!

Actually, Costa has some very interesting European itineraries, going to places in Southern Turkey and to Cyprus, for instance, that we would enjoy. Unfortunately, this offer is only for the Fort Lauderdale cruises. And it is a CHANCE for a necklace at that. I don't think my husband will think that's a good enough reason to cruise, but stranger things have happened.

I don't wear much jewelry, but even if I didn't like the diamond necklace, I could give it to my sister, or save it for when one of our nieces is older.

It wouldn't be an incentive for me as most of the time I wear just my wedding ring and earrings (and the earrings usually cost under $25). I normally don't have an occasion to wear a thousand dollar necklace. And as others have said, there's often giveaways on other cruiselines.

Sometimes I'll win something, but usually not the item I want. Most of the time when I win something useful, it's usually a contest I entered to win something for my girl or someone else.

Patty, who has won a Wild Thornberry Movie poster, a Disney Princess DVD, first place in the Malcolm in the Middle contest (the LAFD dispatch center was the beneficiary of 100 bags of snack chips and a kid at a woman's shelter got a MintheM backpack)....
