    Digital Cameras on Excursions

Do you think it is safe to carry your digital camera on excurstion with you that you will be going to a beach and snorkeling, thus leaving the camera in your bag on the beach? (namely, Coco Cay on Bahamas cruise)

We always take ours, but we alwys have someone with us who is not in the water at the same time watching bags & belongings. Other times, when we snorkel, we are on a private tour boat which is also safe.

If on an organized tour, I have no problem bringing the camera. The people operating it wouldn't last very long if you couldn't leave your things with them safely. If I were just going to a local beach for the day, I'd leave it on the ship...unless we were with a group and could be assured at least one of them would be there to guard it.

    Thanks all! I appreciate it!
I'm considering leaving it while we are snorkeling.
And then going back to get it when we are done since it's only about 10 min back to the ship and we'll be there all day.

True... However. that 10 minute trip back to the ship can eat up an hour (round trip) if you have to wait on a tender on each end...

No way ! I bring a one time use camera on excursions, and a water proof camera for snorkleing and leave my digital on the ship ,unless we are just walking around shopping.... And btw, don't ever hand your camera to someone you don't know to take a pic of you unless you can run really fast. You might have to catch them.

Good point. It does help to if you have seen them on the ship. They would have a hard time getting away if confronted once back onboard.
