I probably shouldn't say this being a nurse and all. But I really pay very little attention to any of this. And I don't know if my house would pass the inspection or not and I really don't care! I wash my hands a lot, use the hand sanitizers when available, usually have sanitary wipes with me, cover mouth with arm when coughing or sneezing.

I used to work in hospitals and clinics (always many germs around there). Now I work in an office building, I don't think any office building is very sanitary. I see folks getting the "crud" all the time. I usually don't catch that stuff. Since 1965 had 4 weeks sick for hysterectomy, 1 week for minor surgery, and just a handfull of other "sick" days. Guess you could say I am blessed with good health. I also go shopping a lot, use buses, trains, taxis and planes. In other words I am around the public a lot. I just can't be botheres with how sanitary places and things are. I just want to live my life until I die. JMO

The Disney Wonder received a score of 100 on their most recent inspection. Now, you would think that would be SUPER...but, my daughter caught conjunctivitis while onboard...it was the 10 night cruise...she obviously caught it from the ship because it has a really fast incubation period...24 hours...and it was like day 3 or 4 ...do I blame Disney? Yes....I question how well cleaned up the kids room is .....luckily I noticed the symptoms very very early and brought her to the onboard doc...keep in mind that we constantly used hand sanitizer gel ...

Deloris, I do not mean this as calling you out or a flame but how can you blame the cruiseline or ship for pink eye? Do you know how contagious this is? All it would take is for your child to touch anything that a child with conjunctivitis happen to touch and then your child touch her eyes. It is very easily caught. I do not see how anyone could expect the cruiseline to actually be able to clean each and every item in the kids area within seconds of another child touching it. It would be totally impossilble and the counselors would not have the time to devote to the children.

I voted other since I had never even known this was available for the public to see. I do think that if a ship was having a routinely problems with the food areas or safety concerns I would now think twice about booking.

I do hate nastiness. Normally my house is clean enough to eat off the floors. I am a little anxious about cleaniness. However, I also know that it is impossible to keep all things clean at all times. I also know it is not healthy to use the germ cleaners too often. Germs are smart and they tend to mutant. I do use the germ cleaners on the ship but I think it is better to go and wash your hands with soap and water. Of course I am one of those people who uses the towel to open the door.
