My wonderful Michael booked a cruise for us on the Fascination as a surprise for me. He knew I loved the ocean and the sun. He had also booked the most beautiful little B&B for a pre cruise stay in Puerto Rico. It was right on the beach.
I will always remember this cruise with great fondness. It was wonderful and definitely made me an addict for life.

Bobster's brother and his wife were cruisers before we were. In 1988 they suggested we cruise with them to see if we liked it.
Our first cruise was on the Amerikanis, Chandris Line. (later to become Celebrity) The rest is history!

The TV show The Love Boat gave me the idea.
We were married on a Sunday and the ship was sailing on Tuesday so it all worked out well.

We booked so we could have an alternative to Land vacations.. not knowing whether or not we would enjoy it we did a 4 nighter to Mexico form LA... we didn't like the shorter cruise but did love the concept...![]()
Went with another family doing the 4 days at Disney and 3 day Wonder. Way to short of cruise.

We booked our first cruise on a whim.
Were in a local discount membership store, and they had a big (wall-sized) sign advertising REALLY inexpensive Bahamas cruises out of the Port....
(This was just a couple of months after 9/11 and it really was dirt cheap)
So, we booked just to see what it would be like.
DH was SURE he would hate it and that his first cruise would also be his LAST.
As we leaned on the railing of the Promenade Deck of the Sovereign of the Seas, watching the Jetties slip by on our way out to sea, he turned to me and said, "When can we book another one?"
We haven't been without a booked cruise since.
We were on vacation in Acapulco and got talked into buying a time share and one of the incentives was a cruise to the Caribbean. We took it back in 2000 and have been hooked every since.
Hi Joey, not any more. The only reason we got into it was because they had these great spots in Europe. Well, we were never able to secure any time whatsoever, even though I would give a year's notice. I was too disgusted and got out of it.
