Does the Atlantic hurricane season deter you from booking a cruise during the months of July thru October when most of the storms occur?
I cruise when the prices are low no matter the season
I avoid hurricane season and will not book a cruise then
I take my chances and expect to have a good time whenever I cruise
What hurricane season?

We generally don't cruise during the summer...not because of hurricanes, but because we prefer less kids and more adults on our cruises.
We DO cruise in September/October and have only had 1 cruise influenced by a hurricane....actually 2 hurricanes! It was fun and we had the thrill of picking up some Cubans on a home made raft who had been adrift in the Florida Straits.
Absolutely not!!We always sail in October, and yes the threat is there, but we always get full insurance and go two nights before!! We have always, so far, had great weather. We had one close call with Wilma, they were closing the port at 6 a.m. Most everyone at the hotel were cruisers, but one young couple drove to the port and found out it was closing to incoming ships, not outgoing. Our ship had come in at 5 a.m. so we were able to sail, and did leave port early, but many ships were not able to port so a lot of disappointed cruisers, I did feel bad!!

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Yes - Absolutely!
We book one or two short cruises a year right during peak hurricane season.
We live 12 minutes from the port, on a barrier island, so mandatory evauation is always a possibility for us. I figure I can do that evacuation one of two ways (IF the storm coincides with my booking):
1) Take about 3-4 hours to drive the 47 miles to Orlando and spend several miserable days trapped inside an overpriced hotel room, possibly with no electricity, and with only cold food to eat, and then endure sweltering post-hurricane heat during the 3-4+ hour crawl back .
2) Drive 12 minutes, board a nice ship, WITH air conditionsing and ammenities, where I will be waited on hand and foot, while the captain takes me to a sunny location to wait out the storm. (Yes, we put up with some rough seas enroute to calmer ones.) Afterwards, the cruiseline will deliver me to within 12 minutes of my driveway - even if they have to bus me from an alternate debarkation port.
If I can manage it, I'll choose #2.
In 2004, our pre-booked peak season cruise coincided exactly with Hurricane Jean. Mandatory evacuationi for our island began at 6 AM on Saturday... we boarded our windows and the Sovereign on Friday.

We have cruised quite a few times during the season and have never been effected. I will continue to cruise during the season.

I wouldn't do it.I know the ships can go around them, but we book our own excursions ,and really wouldn't like for all that planning to be for naught with the timing of ports thrown off or changed. The good thing is,we don't have to go then .We prefer other times of the year to cruise .

It may sound strange but I do get some clients who prefer to book during Hurricane Season only especially the height of the hurricane season, Late August thru Oct 1st.
Most of them ask how much they will get back and off for future cruises if a hurricane interrups their cruise before, or during their cruise.
Others book as the cruise deals out there are really reduced, plus you get all kinds of amenities for taking them.

Hurricane Season makes no difference to me. Prices are lower and sometimes they are fun to run from. We ran from a few, the worst being Bermuda, but heck we had the pool practically to ourselves there were so many people sick.
The only downside is that they do not provide seatbelts on the stools at the slot machines.
