So far I have only gone out of Galveston, and it is driving distance. I hope some day to be able to afford airfare and cruise......

I have been on 7 cruises so far and I had to fly every time, the furthest was to Rome.

No other choice but air. The closest departure port is New York, too long to be a comfortable drive from where we live.

Until the past couple of years it was always by AIR! Now, we are driving for Caribbean cruises. It's a real luxury NOT to have to fly ... whenever possible.

This really depends on where we are cruising from. If it is Jacksonville or PC we drive, otherwise we fly. I put fly though.

    For my nine cruises:
six were from San Pedro: we drove ourselves five times and hired a car service for the sixth time (too much luggage for a 15-day cruise for our small cars).

one from Seattle: we took the train up the west coast

    two from Miami: we flew

Well, I just voted. We have always taken planes. I wish we could go by car to a port because a. we would save a bundle and b. I certainly could pack whatever my heart desired! But, alas, that is not the case.
