Do you own any cruiseline stocks?

If so, sdo you see them as a part of your long term portfolio, a trading opportunity, or a way to get the stockowners onboard credit?

We bought CCL stock quite a few years ago when it was selling for $12 a share. We get to use the ship board credit at 1 or 2 times a year when we do back-to-back cruises (a couple of years we got to use it 4 times when we did 4 back-to-back cruises). We use our AMEX Plat for one cruise and the CCL for the second cruise.

Buying the CCL stock has been a good investment for us.

I don't, but I remember after my first cruise that I was so impressed with the way the ship was run that I did ask my broker to check it out. Turned out the company was Asian owned and the hassles of buying were just too much. However, I wouldn't rule it out.

I want some, but every time I think about calling my broker to buy some the price goes up. So I put it off.

I own both and bought Carnival shortly after Sept 11 at about $20/share. I don't have zillions of shares but do have enough for the OBCs on both RCL and CCL. Both are long-term holds for me, but not sure I would be buying at current levels.

I do own stock in RCL, I bought it and it sits in my IRA, I never went into it as a money making venture. Actually I bought it strickly for the OB credit. I've been able to use it three times. It is just now starting to make a little money, I bought it much higher than I should have, but I'll bet the people who bought it when it was $15.00 dollars a share and really happy now, since its going for about 44.00 per share.
Bottom line right now the shares are up, and I've gotten an OB credit three X so I have not lost a dime.

If you are going to buy a cruise stock I would not buy it with the idea that you are actually going to make a big profit, especially RCL.

I have large cap and small cap funds so I imagine that someplace in the long lists of companies I own a snippet of stock in is some cruiseline company or another. Whenever I get sent the annual pamplet listing the stocks, I try to flip through but it eventually goes in the recycling bin.

So maybe I own a lugnut of a ship.

I don't own any cruise line stock, but I've been reading about the onboard benefits of owning them and plan on looking into it.

We have owned RCL stock for a few years. It has more than doubled in value and the OBCs have totaled more than we paid for the stock. So we have the best of both--investment growth and lots of OBC!

I've had some stocks in the past none right now and for some reasom I don't know why cruiselines where never any that I had.
