We've only done week long cruises so far but I think that 10 days would be perfect. Not too long but still long enough that when the end is rolling around, I'm not saying, "Is it over already?"

We also really prefer the longer cruises and thankfully, have the time to do it right now.
We also find that in terms of bang for your buck, that the longer cruises, like repositioning cruises, are a huge value. We are paying the same price for our 11 night Alaska cruise in May as many are paying for 7 days in Alaska in July!
Also, our Transatlantic cruise on the Noordam cost the same for 16 nights as the 10 night Med cruise before it did.
So if you have the time......

I voted for the 14 night. We started out with 1 week cruises, then increased to 10 day. We realized that we were still having a hard time getting OFF the ship, so now we look at 14+ day cruises. Our favorites are to Europe or transatlantic cruises and to take a few days before or after our cruise to tour.

When our work schedules aren't conflicting with our travel desires, I want to do some of these repositioning cruises. There are also a lot of great last-minute deals if you can get away with just a week or few's notice. That's going to be me some day!
