I've always felt safe on a ship. Now getting there is a different story. I hold on to my belongings in an airport and make sure the security lock is engaged on a hotel, but the minute I step onto a cruise ship I feel relaxed and happy, happy, happy! I don't go to places without my Bob in the evening, so maybe that's why, but during the day we often go our separate ways. There are always people around during the day and maybe that's why.

I believe the ships are safer now than they were 15-20 years ago.

Security is much tighter. I think the ships are safer than many of the ports that they visit. As has been mentioned you need to use common sense, although sometimes it is not too common.

For those who have cruised before, do you feel safe on a cruise? Have you ever felt uncomfortable or threatened while on a cruise? Are you more hesitant to book a cruise now due to the safety concerns that have been raised? Do you beleive that cruising is a more dangerous form of vacationing than other forms of vacations?

I feel very comfortable on cruise ships. I've never once felt threatened or in danger. The only time I feel a little weary is when I'm walking on deck at night, in the dark, out at sea (when it's almost pitch black).

Yes I felt very safe on our cruise there was 4 of us girls and since we went without our hubbies we went either in pairs or all 4 together.

Its all common sense and don't put your self in a situation where something bad can happen. There's creeps everywhere .There were lots of people everywhere we went and I was never uncomfortable at anytime.Be smart and have a wonderful vacation
