Simply put, the media loves to sensationalize anything and everything. If I didn't feel safe on a cruise ship, I sure woulndn't spend the big bucks to go on one.

I have always felt safe on a cruise ship. In fact never really gave it a thought. I have walked all over the ships alone at all times of day and night. Especially love being on top watching the water and stars and sometimes even the full moon,
I am not drunk however. Think the last time I drank too much was at 10 year HS reunion. I will continue to enjoy my night time walks on deck.

I've never once felt threatened while on a cruise. It's just like anywhere else though ... you be careful ... watchful. There are bad people everywhere.
