What is the most exotic location you've ever visited?

And was it a land trip or on a cruise? Why was it so exotic? Did you like it? Would you go back?

Hi Kyle, haven't seen you around in a bit.

    Exotic... hm...

    this is the dictionary definition

    1. From another part of the world; foreign: exotic tropical plants in a greenhouse. See Synonyms at foreign.
    2. Intriguingly unusual or different; excitingly strange: “If something can be explained simply, in a familiar way, then it is best to avoid more exotic explanations” (Chet Raymo). See Synonyms at fantastic.
so take it to mean whatever you want it to mean!

Unfortunately I have yet to make to anywhere in Asia or Africa.

My favorite exotic locales, places where I want to return to and would love to spend a lot of time, would be the remote Scottish highlands and certainly the Med. coasts of France and Italy.
I know the world has many many places more exotic than these, but I havn't seen them yet, or they don't give me that "I could live here" feeling.

(Flofleg is reading this and saying "The Highlands? Exotic??)

That sounds nice Kyle. One day I would really like to make to the castles of Ireland.

I will be in the Med year and perhaps once I discover the South of France and the Greek Isles, my answer will change.

For me, I guess exotic location would have to be Thailand. But seeing as my family is Thai, I'm not sure I consider Thailand exotic. But I've been there 12x. I think only recently as I've gotten older I've come to appreciate the true beauty of the land and its peole and its history.

Perhaps my answer could also be China. I went there this past March for a land tour. There is so much history and culture in everything that is there. Its amazing to see things such as the Great Wall and the Terra Cotta Warriors. Incredible and it just leaves you speechless.

The most exotic place I've been so far would have to be the Panama Canal. It wouldn't be my first choice of where to go back to though. That would probably be Hawaii. There are many more exotic places I want to go, so the "most" exotic may still be ahead.

Hawaii 2012, Grand Princess 2011, etc.

Its always exciting when there are still places in the world that you've never been that you want to cross off of your list.

There are so many great places around the world to see.

Kyle - by the way, all of your Med pictures are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

    Thanks!
I had a great time taking them!

China is very high on my to-do list. It may have to wait a year or so more.

For us, it has to be Antarctica! Very special, unique, exceptional, etc. I would like to return some day. It was a cruise of a lifetime for us!
