What is your favorite port and why?

So which port do you like best? The one you would go to over and over again. The one you would do a land vacation to. And of course do not forget t tell us why.

My DH and I very much LOVE St.Maarten/St.Martin!

Sometimes, it's not the most far away and/or exotic places visited ... it's the MOST ENJOYED. For us ... the Caribbean ... especially, St.Maarten/St.Martin ... just because we are always so HAPPY there!

Our favorite so far has been The Cayman Islands. Love the beauty, stingray city and the shopping ain't so bad either.

Another vote for St. Maarten. We just like the atmosphere there.

...and another vote for St. Maarten. The people there are so friendly, even on the French side.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

Guess we'll know soon enough. We've seen a lot of islands over the years, but somehow always missed St. Maarten/Martin and St. Kitts. We'll be visiting both in just a few weeks for the first time, and then I'll be smarter and will cast my vote.

For those of you who so favor St. Mwhatever, what specific things did you see there that you really enjoyed? We've got a day trip and lunch planned over in Marigot, and haven't any idea what we'll find there.

We liked St. Thomas. Also liked Georgetown, Gr. Cayman. It was raining the day we were there so it might be nice to return. Of course, Hawaii. Would always like to go back. We didn't get to see Kona and my two land vacations there didn't include Kona, so I was disappointed that weather conditions precluded tendering in. Skagway was the most interesting of our Alaskan ports and I would like to see more of Victoria.

Most of the other ports we've been to were in Mexico, and I wouldn't mind if we don't return to any of them.

Where are you going in Marigot? I would like to suggest Sunset Beach Bar and Grill. This is the bar/restaurant located at the end of the airport runway. It is amazing to see the big planes come in that low and besides the food there is really good.
