Cruise For Haiti Launched and Organizes Charity Cruise to Labadee

Cruise travel industry veterans, Carrie Finley Bajak of CruiseBuzz.net and Rich Tucker of CruiseDeals.com, have launched a collective effort known as Cruise For Haiti. Noted travel writer and founder/editor of the Family Travel Network, Nancy Schretter is also helping to head up the organization effort of this charity cruise.

Cruise Line Fans all over the world were shocked to hear the news of the earthquake and desperate resulting human catastrophe in Haiti and flocked to donate money to the Red Cross (which you still can do!), send relief supplies organized by some of our own volunteer moderators, and now I'd really like everyone to take a moment and read more about this latest effort of the cruise industry, CruiseBuzz and CruiseSource, the Family Travel Network and Cruise4Haiti.

The cruise will deliver supplies to Haiti, raise awareness and money for the jobs being performed by relief organizations like For Haiti with Love and Airline Ambassadors, and hopefully continue to work towards a permanent resolution of Haiti's ongoing economic distress and internal chaos caused by natural disaster.

Passengers will be boarding Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas on November 14, 2011 in Miami, FL.

    • 7-Night Caribbean Cruise departing Miami FL on 11.14.2010
    • $75 for each Cabin booked goes directly to Haiti Relief Effort
    • Optional Group Event in San Juan
    • Exclusive Private Group Events on the Ship
    • Create gifts for children in need while at sea
    • Group T-Shirt
    • Rates starting at only $634 including all taxes & fees!!

Please do be sure to read more about it here: Cruise 4 Haiti | Bringing the Holidays to Haiti

Gosh - That sounds like enough to entice a smaller ship lover onto a big ship like Liberty of othe Seas, doesn't it?

Tempting. . . but, unfortunately, not in the cards. Maybe Cruise Ready Store can help in some way, though. I'll have to give that some thought.

    Sheila,

They are a number of ways you can help out the Cruise4Haiti. Please do check out the website, download a site badge and place it on your site. Yo you can let the organizers know and they will add you to the list of Promotional Partners. Also, you, CRS, and all our CruiseLineFans members can of course donate to these organizations through the Cruise4Haiti and still make a difference if you cannot cruise with the group.

This is a very timely effort. Folks seem to forget that it will take many months to restore Haiti to even a livable status. Many are still in temporary shelters and are living in primitive conditions.

Kudos to the sponsors of this continuing aid to Haiti and it's inhabitants.

The situation is Haiti will be chaotic and difficult for many months to come and constant relief efforts such as the Cruise For Haiti will help to remind folks that its an ongoing issue.
