I'm booked for Eastern Caribbean in Jan 07. Haven't had much time to research these ports yet. I have found that St. John is highly recommended when in St. Thomas. You can take a ferry on your own from St. Thomas with a cab ride to the ferry from the cruise dock. Another cab on St. John (Cruz Bay) and you will be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Trunk Bay.! I hear the snorkeling is great here too. Another option I'm looking into is taking a day sail. We did this in Nassau recently and it was a wonderful day. We hope to get back to St. Thomas with enough time to take the skyliner for the views of the bay and the cruise ships in dock.

In St. Martin, we'll probably rent a car and drive around the island as it is my understanding the best beaches are far from the cruise port here and there are two very distinct sides to this island.

I was in CocoCay and labadee in November. Out of the two I would say CocoCay was the best. The island is so isolated and beautiful. There are plenty of activities, markets and Barbeque's. Labadee was nice but you have to put up with the hassle of the locals. The Craft Market was a good exercise of how to keep your cool as the locals try and get you to buy their wares.

Labadee is not an island but a part of Haiti. Therefore, in my opinion, lacks that bit of romance unlike CocoCay.
