I do, they are usually smaller and more private with less ships
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

So where else could I get my Labadoozie or my Cocoloco? Love private islands.

I voted never done it, but will be soon.. Half moon Cay sounds nicer than Catalina. I do however have some reservations about "private islands" particularly & probably selfishly, Mayreau in the Grenadines, this small island has a village & was somewhere only visited by small yacht charters, a magical peaceful place, I actually wanted my ashes scattered there, not now, with regular visits by ships disgorging thousands of tourists(OK like me, I know). seems sorta wrong...

Unless you're really into watersports and such activities, these stops can probably be very, very boring! But, I love going ashore to watch the almost-always-not-so-beautiful-as-they-think people, wandering around. I always enjoy the "barbecue" offered, as it generally differs considerably from what's available on board!

Especially on a 10-day cruise, the private island visit is a welcome change from the usual island shore excursions!

One thing I suppose is there isn't much to do but relax....no pressure "from certain areas" to go to the shops....

Never been, but I do like the idea of stopping at them. I will in some years time visit Castaway Cay on my Disney Cruise.

In all the cruising we have done we have only been to private island twice. (mostly because they do not have them on the Pacific coast) We are not normaly into laying around on a beach but we did enjoy those stops.

Lulu I voted other. One time for a private island is enough for me these days. I really like beach days but I don't like having to pay for a water mat or tip for a lounge chair anymore at amenity islands. I used to go crazy for Labadee...been there, done that, the scenery is great, fine for a walk around /leg stretch. I can stay on the ship and probably have just as good a time or better.

You know they have Private Island excursions away from the Private Island stops? Makes no sense to me.
