On HAL they will bring you however many you need! My parents dont take them and on their first day, they always request 60 hangers and get them LOL

We take the ones from the dry cleaners, and leave them also.

On the Zuiderdam we used their laundry service at $12.00 a bag full, they brought dh's shirts and my blouses on steel hangers as well! We left those too!

I've asked for extra hangers on Carnival & Princess. Both lines were happy to provide more. My last cruise, I took extra (wire hangers from the cleaners) just in case. Didn't need them. Isn't that the way it always is? I left them for the next folk.

Rather than packing excess stuff, I ask for more hangers. Usually delivered within 5 minutes.

    Agree with hanna, Ziggy, etc.

We've never had a problem getting extra hangers on any cruise line ... and always VERY QUICKLY! Absolutely no need to bring them from home!

Occasionally, I decide to 'lazy pack.'

Meaning - open the big suitcase, take close out of closet, double over, and place in suitcase without removing hanger. Once onboard, just lift out and hang.

(Actually, you lay the hung clothes in the suitcase, with as much 'sticking out' as necessary, place other otems (undies, swim suits, shorts, etc) on top of them, then fold the 'sticking out' part back over the other items.)

We always bring my dresses and hubby's suits in a garment bag, but with items inside other items, rather than each one on its own hanger. So we'll use pretty much every hanger in the closet. But if we need more, we know we could ask our cabin steward.

The only problem with using "their" hangers is that they are the wooden kind and take up a lot more space on the rod than the wire hangers.

I hang a lot of our clothes--shirts, pants, blouses, dresses (I like sun dresses) I pack my dresses on wire hangers with the plastic dry cleaning bags over them. They go straight from the suitcase to the closet with no wrinkles. So we probably have more hanging stuff than most folks. The wire hangers that my dresses are on allow for more hangers on the rod.
