No we change right after. DH hates dressing up so we go right back to the room after pictures and change. That's our compromise.

I stay dressed formal. Have late dining and so not much time left anyway. Besides after being a FireFighter/Paramendic for 12 years and now working in an Architect firm I love every chance I get to dress and feel like a Woman.![]()

We stay in formal wear since we wear it so much at home we are quite comfortable in it away from home. It also helps that we go to early dinner.![]()
27 cruises and countin'!
Next cruise, July 12-26, 2008. NCL Jade 13 night cruise around the British Isles, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris.
I like to dress up, so formal wear doesn't bother me and I would keep it on all night as long as I was comfortable. One thing I did learn is that sequin dresses look great but are only comfortable if you stand up all night. Sitting and leaning on anything causes all those little sequins to dig in. Ouch! I avoid those like the plague.
DH and I stay dressed up after dinner. We usually go to the show and then for a romantic promenade out on deck if it's warm enough. It's nice to stroll, arm in arm all dressed up. Warm fuzzies.![]()

If we're going to a show after dinner (late traditional), we usually don't have much time to run up to the kids' area and sign out the girl, and run to the lounge. Hopefully I remember to bring a shawl to keep me warm during the show.If we're just hanging out, it just depends. But I feel the formal aspect should just apply to the dining rooms. Just because someone didn't feel like getting gussied up for whatever reason (and probably ate in the casual dining room), they should still be able to go to the shows or the other night activities without others passing judgement. No one should be forced to stay in their cabin during formal night just because they didn't want to put on fancy duds.

It's one of the 'hot' topics between traditionalists and new cruisers on HAL, 'to dress or not to dress'. If DH and I change into casual clothes after dinner (which we will do alot), we don't go into the bars or showrooms, rather remain in our room, take a walk on deck, or a soak in the hottub.![]()

I love the sequin dresses....I never notice them digging, lol...maybe my butt is numb, lol. Plus, they don't seem to wrinkle nearly as easy! I love the Sequin ones....they are my first choice!Originally Posted by Ozzy
I love sequins too, and I love to wear black dresses. Always are in fashion and you can change it with the accesories... You can make a simple black dress in a very formal if you selects the correct accesories, (bright necklace, hair pieces, a scarf, rinestones, etc...) At the same time is a good way to carry less baggages possible.Originally Posted by djgifford
