    Cruise Clothes Skinny!!

We have all given advise about suggested dress code on cruiseships!! But what do you wear on a cruise??? Both formal and casual.

For formal night I wear a long gown, but lightweight and comfy, and Dickie wears a black suit, On non formal nights I wear a nice dress, and Dickie wears pants and a short sleeve shirt. Daytimes I bum out, shorts and tank tops, and Dickie shorts and a short sleeve shirt!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I think it's illegial to use skinny and clothes in the same sentence!

.... but I wear the suggested dress code.... I dress formally on formal nights!

What about the rest of the time....is is all RCI wear? And do you buy these things on the ship?

I haven't gone yet, so I still have time to shop!

I wear a suit on formal nights and Karen wears a formal dress, usually a new one every cruise.. On other nights shirt and pants for me, and a casual dress, or a slacks outfit for her..

During the day, it's whatever is comfortable and cool, for the two of us...

Formal nights - I wear either a long gown or a floor length skirt and a very fancy top. DH wears his tuxedo - has ruffled and now ruffled shirts.

Informal - I wear a 3/4 length skirt and more fancy tops. DH wears either a sports jacket and tie or suit and tie.

Casual nights - I wear either slacks or dresses - whatever catches my mood. DH wears slacks and sports shirts.

Day time - we both wear bermudas and sports tops except for when we hand around the pool - then we wear bathing suits.

I have always worn a long skirt and a fancy top for formal nights. I just bought a fancy little black dress that hits mid calf with a handkerchief hem for one of my formal nights. Shorts and t-shirts during the day. Long pants and nice tops for the other nights in the dining room. I probably over-dress for those nights since some of my tops are pretty fancy and I usually wear heels.

Sue it really does depend on the cruise.

Longer cruises 10 days or more are more formal........wear a tux

7 day cruises, especially West Coast more informal and wear a suit

During the day usually polo shirts and shorts

Do agree that on longer cruisers, the passengers do tend to dress more formally since there are more formal nights.

We see a lot more tuxedos on the longer cruises than we do on the short ones.

In the past, it's been dark suit for me on formal nights while DW wears rather elegant, not glitzy, outfits. However, I'm considering renting a tux for our next cruise in order to keep the weight of our luggage down. I'm not sure what that will do for her choices. Has anyone done the tux rental thing? Any advice?
