Personally, I do look at the shoes. I have very hard to fit feet (narrow and not too much padding on the bottom) and I'm always looking at what other women are wearing to see if it might be something I could wear.

I have narrow feet here, especially in the heels. But my right foot is a bit wider across the toes than the left due to an injury years ago. So I'm most comfortable in open shoes, such as sandals. But I usually don't pay attention to people's shoes, unless they're very unusual.

Actually it was a rhetorical question. I just really want to know if anybody looks at anybody else's shoes. I do !
I look at shoes and fantasize about being able to wear half the shoes that I like.
All shoes hurt my feet. On our upcoming cruise, I am taking a pair of flats that I will wear for both formal and daily dinner. We are going to Machu Pichhu after the cruise and I don't want to
be schlepping a bunch of shoes. My formal wear will be a black skirt with a change of tops.
DH won't be taking his tux. We are off to the thrift store to see if we can find a suit that he can wear and then donate to a thrift shop.
I am too fat to wear those light-weight, clinky, take-up-little-room outfits, so am having real problems trying to fit everything into just a carry-on. Laundry service will be key.
I really don't pay much attention to other people's shoes... unless they really stand out.
For instance, it bothers me that some people seem to think that, as long as they halfway match the dress, flip flops are acceptable formal wear. I notice that, because it's so bizzare.
Ages ago after injuring my foot I could only wear clunky shoes with orthodics in them. On formal night I wore dressy slacks and a very fancy top and prayed no one would notice my shoes. Decided that if anyone asked, I was just going to tell them that I forgot my dress shoes at home OR that my suitcase with them in it was lost.
That night after dinner I started talking to one lady in the casino. She commented how sore her feet were from the heels. I mentioned my shoes and what the clunky shoes. She laughed. She said she had noticed but had only thought how envious she was of me and my comfy feet.
