Thread: Did you look?

I have one pair of heeled dress sandals. Medium heel (I'm old) - Black satin, with ankle strap. Wear them on every formal night. And some of the non formal ones, too. Don't care who is offended.
I only have to pack one pair of dressy shoes!

Been packing that same pair of shoes for every cruise since about 2002. It's the only time I ever wear them. That one pair was money well spent!

After my bout with plantar fascheitis I am no longer comfortable in a lot of the shoes I used to like to wear, this includes all high heels! Several years ago I found a black wedgie slip on (about 1 1/2 inches high), open heel with black mesh across the front and open toes. I wear them on every cruise formal night with either a black slinky knit long dress or pants. i bring some glitzy jackets to change the look for the different formal nights. I can wear those shoes for quite a while before my feet get tired of them, lasting the whole formal evening.
For every other day and night I wear my Birkenstocks which keep my feet comfy and pain free over any terraine!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it,

PS: I also gave up wearing pantyhose and these shoes work well with barefeet.

OMG I wouldn't feel human without my pantyhose on formal night. (Or any other night for that matter)

Me either! I guess we are just throwbacks from an earlier era.

Just think about it.... I keep seeing comments around how many folks change out of their formal attire after dinner and then head out for more fun. That's what I always do. It's the shoes!! I can't find a pair of formal shoes that are comfortable so maybe I'll just quit trying.

Funny, my mom tried to instill that in me but I always hated the nylons with the garters and the pantyhose! Poor mom, she tried.
I probably shouldn't say this but....the only time I wear a bra anymore is at work, and the formal nights. I hate them, I can't believe I got excited to wear one as a teen. I don't wear form fitting clothes anymore so most can't tell when I don't have one on.

Me too. Sort of -- I'll admit that I sometimes wear knee highs with a long dress on formal nights. But not bare feet in dress shoes.
