Thread: Some dresses I've found

I just want to post "show off" photos of a couple of dresses I've found for our cruise! (okay, not just the cruise... I'll wear these for other occasions, too, I'm sure...)

First, the First Formal Night dress:


And, I also found a "Little black dress", for non-formal nights:

I'll take opinions, comments, questions, even criticism, if you think that either/both of these just don't cut it as formal or cruise wear...

The dresses will be perfect for the occasions on shipboard and on land! A little jewelry and you can make the black one work many different ways. Add a shawl and the formal dress will look different for a second wearing.

Oh, I plan on using a shawl!

And with the LBD, I have a lovely amber earrings/necklace set that will look great with it.

I just have to find either a black or midnight blue, velvet skirt OR palazzo or "car wash" pants, as I have a lovely pale blue top (similar in fabric/design to the formal dress) that is screaming to be my 2nd formal night wear.

Before my last cruise, I bought a LBD at JC Penneys on sale and wore my emerald necklace and earrings. Accessories can work wonders, but I often forget about that. A lacy shawl is wonderful for cruises. I love those black sandals.

Naturally, I couldn't manage either dress without Spanx

I love the black dress! The back is as cute as the front. Spanx are our friends, and crucial if I want smooth lines. You will look beautiful.

we're going on our first cruise in september...so i really still have no idea about this 'dress things' to wear. for first night i was told a smart outfit will be ok.....so ......will a skirt - black with red flowers (just below the knee) and a lacy black top do?

then for the second night, a dress that goes nearly to the ankles? nothing fussy, but i'm still not sure about it.....sorry......and thanks for any advice from you experienced cruisers. hugs & kisses.......xxxxxxx

I hate those spanx. They curl and don't stay up. Maybe I bought the wrong size?

Sounds good to me on both Just as long as you feel good in them is the most important thing..IMHO.
