    Cocktail Dress Alternative?

My wife is not one to wear dresses. So what's a suitable alternative for formal night. Are nice slacks and a blouse acceptable?

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Cool, we're both T-shirt and jeans people, and she wears khakis at work. I'll treat her to a nisc outfit at Kohl's.

For Formal Nights on RCCL (noticed that's your upcoming cruise) ... your wife would be be very comfortable in anything she would wear to attend a nice wedding.

I think that's a good description. Of course, I've seen 20ish people wearing jeans to a wedding.

I sometimes wear a crepey black one piece pantsuit with a sparkly emerald necklace to formal night. Great if the AC is running on high which it's often inside the dining room or theatres.

I usually take a couple of pairs of nice black slacks and a variety of classy tops to go with them. They can be dressy or more casual, depending on the mood of the evening. Knit slacks are a lot easier to pack, since you can roll them up to save space. Wedding attire is a good description, since many of these outfits I have would be appropriate, and can change with different jewelry.

It is safe to go with a pair of black pants and a "glitzy" top! Enjoy!

Yes, but DRESS slacks and and glitzy top or the fancy palazzo pants that are real wide pants with strips of fabric on top making it look like a skirt. And they are really cheap.
