Thread: What do you wear to Formal Dinner?

Do you go to Formal Dinner?
If so what do you wear?
As you can see by my avatar I wear a tux along with my son.
Do you get all dressed up ?
I don't want this to turn into a debate about what to wear or is it allowed!
Just wonder what you wear?

Short answer is yes and no..........I no longer wear my tux for Caribbean cruises........nice black or grey pinstripe suit

For the longer cruises like the Panama Canal......yes......wear my tux.

Chuck I just have taken note on my last 4 cruises and here is what I found.......a guess here and by no means scientific

Vision of the Seas 7 night Mexican Riviera......10% tux, 50% suits and 40% sport coat with no tie

Caribbean Princess 7 night Caribbean.......50% tux, 50% suit

Celebrity Infinity Hawaii 12 night 30% tux, 70% suit (this one surprised me)

Brilliance of the Seas Panama Canal.........90% tux

I'm finding itinerary and weather have more to do with formal wear than cruise ship or line........and the trend, right or wrong is informal more and more..........

that is Very Interesting!
I really enjoy dressing up! I never get to at home. We also do, so the wife can get her photos! This is really the main reason...

My view is Formal is Formal, regardless of the itinerary, so having said that, on formal nights , you will find me wearing formal wear .

Good point Phil......no argument here........just reporting trends

I always wear dresses on formal nights... here are pictures of my two formal outfits...although i guess its a bit hard to tell since I'm sitting in both pictures!

I wear a suit. I plan to purchase a tux before our next cruise though.
