Hello there and some questions¡
I joined this website because I’d like to know more about how it is working on a cruise ship and meet people which can give me any advices.
My name is Michael Logan I’m 25, I was born in Colombia and spiritually I’m from Canada, right now I’m looking forward to move there for living and study. So I’m looking for a job that allows me to get good money to move there, do an ESL and start my career in sports (Physical Trainer, Adventure Sports) and then come back to the ship working as a personal trainer, climbing instructor and all kind of things regarding sports.
My professional knowledge right now is in the computer area (Technical), I’ve been doing my research and I’ve found that maybe I can work as a Computer Specialist, that job is good but requires (I think, I’m not certainly sure) too much contact with passengers, right now I need to improve my listening English skills, so I think that maybe in my very first contract I’ll need a job that has not too much contact with passengers while I train my ears =). What can you tell me about this? What do you know about the tasks of a Computer Specialist onboard, has my English to be perfect in order to work on that position?
Another questions:
-What can you tell me about the cruise lines, what are the best to work with?
-What are the payments? I’ve seen many salaries I’m not quite sure what to believe, in one website I found that vary between $500 to $3000 dollars per WEEK, In another website says that it is between $1000 to $1700 per MONTH. What can you tell me?
I think that I can be of lots of help for the cruise lines, I’m a person who likes to do the things fast and efficient, not rushing just doing it the best as possible, also I don’t have problems doing shores like moping or sweeping if is necessary… lol .. and working on a cruise can help me to meet some of my goals like improving my English for instance and of course it ‘d help me to growth in all the areas of my life.
Nice to meet you all and I hope you can be of any help with my questions¡
Thanks in advance,
Logan.
