When we were on the Serenade recently we were taking to some of the staff that was looking forward to Chinese restaurant in Sitka. They only stop there at the begining and end of the season so it was a big deal.

I know the restaurant well. It is yummy...very plain looking decor and more to suit lower end budgets but the food is great.

GREAT THREAD! And, hahaha, I'm another one banned forever from over there, you know where . . .

Anyhow, Snoodel, you are correct in your comment above. DH and I did the ultimate balcony dinner on the Crown Princess last summer. The gal assigned to take care of us was the NICEST most PLEASANT person . . . we ended up talking to her the whole evening. Her husband is/was a bartender onboard. They have a son back home - her family was taking care of him.

I think when you get past the fact that the staff is there to 'serve you' it enables you to see them as human beings. Once that relationship is established I think everyone is happier.

    Thanks for posting here Danielle!

Sometimes it's not cold. Tell David if it is cool on your cruise, you'll get him some hot chocolate. That worked for the girl, especially in Ketchikan. Warms the tummy.
