Oh well, Carnival and Princess are taking my $$ these days!!
I asked one of the Royal Caribbean Business Development Managers (BDM) why the sudden pull out of the Mariner from LA, and was told it wasn't selling well. Even the small ships are being sent to Europe and the Med. next year. We have the Grandeur Of The Seas here in Ft Lauderdale this year, but it's going to the Med. next summer. Radiance will be in Tampa, FL. The only ships will be the two giants here and people residing in Florida and the nation for that matter will have to travel to Ft Lauderdale to cruise Royal Caribbean next summer.
Hey, Princess and Carnival have very nice ships on the West Coast.

One of the reasons the Mariner it was not selling well is that they had added the Radiance to the west coast in a last minute move. They flooded that market and had trouble filling both ships. I understand that for now the demand in Europe is high but that does not make me feel any better that they left nothing on the west coast except Alaska.

In the mean time we will be trying other lines out west and probably continue to cruise the east coast about every other year.

We sailed both the Mariner and the Radiance. Two very different experiences. I have two upcoming cruises with Carnival and one with Princess. It works!!

I do not understand. If you book a balcony with RCCL on line, the price is $965. Why is the above pricing so high? Thank-you.

This is the Group pricing Royal Caribbean gave me.

I'm checking pricing online right now and the price for the D6 Balcony cabin is $1,120.00 per person. With taxes added, it's $1,411.64 per person. I don't know where you got the $965 fare from. I see no balcony fares at that price before taxes are added.

Perhaps Katie was looking at a different date?

Please forgive me. I did not see that taxes and fees were included until now. The reason I had originally questioned it was because that is when we are going and thought ...wow, maybe I will get to meet some of the great people on this site. Again, I apologize.
