I have never cruised in a group larger than 2, me and my girlfriend all 3 times. Are there any benefits of a large group, or is it just more of a pain?

It's great! At least with us it is because we always travel with families we're friends with. It makes dinner a lot more enjoyable; better than sitting with people you don't know or being crammed in a booth. And when you get off at the ports it's a lot more fun when you walk around and go to the beach.Originally Posted by rex_admin

We generaly just go as the 2 of us.
We have traveled with others and we always make it clear up front that we play it loose. We may or may not hang around together. We usually do but we will not be waiting around for others.

We have traveled with a large group of friends/family and it was fun but a little stressful because naturally everyone doesn't always want to do the same thing or the same thing at the same time. But it was still fun!!!
We like to cruise alone, for the same reasons Lisa quoted.. Then you can come and go, whenever you please... We would like to take a family cruise, if we can ever get everyone together at the same time. We agreed then, that we'd all eat our evening meal together and talk about our day, but the rest of the time was yours to enjoy...
small groups for us
JV The 4 stages of cruising: planning, anticipation, experience and reflection.
Coming up: Celebrity Millennium Wine Cruise(9/17/10), Celebrity Century(1/15/11) and Celebrity Eclipse Italian Mediterranean(7/2/11)
The smallest group I have travelled in was the four of us. Most times it is 8 to 12 of us. Also, since one of my group refused to sit with people he didn't know on that four person trip, I have never had a tablemate I didn't already know. Guess I miss out on some of those tablemate adventures others experience![]()

Rex, I hope you are not cruising with your "girlfriend" any more. I really think someone might get upset if you didOriginally Posted by Rex

I'e cruised twice with just me and a friend, once with a group of 32, once with 3 others, a groups of 64 back in 2004 and just this last month the group I was with totaled 118. So I think I've seen it all and prefer groups of 30 or less. That way I can get to know everyone a bit better. The larger the group the less I get to know.
