It all depends on you. Do you want to stay with a tried and true choice or do you want to spread your wings and try something new. Who offers the best itinerary and price for you. I say try something new. If you don't, you'll never know if you missed out on something. RCI is a lovely line (though I do dislike certain ships) and their services are comparable.
That's a tough call... Both lines are very, very good.. I would not venture to recommend either, because I found them almost equal, all things taken into consideration.. However, I would tell you to try RCI, only because you haven't tried it yet, and it is a very good line...
.
I kind felt the same way but i wanted to make sure of the cruise line before we did it, i sort of want to try a new line also, but still are not positive only bc we have been on princess and know how much we liked it. The boats would be the new Crown Princess , or The Explorer Of The Seas. thanks for the reply.
I would go on Explorer. I tend to think a cruise is great to go on whatever line as long as it is reputable.

You can't go wrong with either line. If a really large ship would be a problem for you, you might not like Explorer. I found that the larger ships are great for me - more choices of things to do - but not everyone shares my opinion.
So I would look at 3 things-
Which one has the more interesting itinerary?
Which one is cheaper, if you compare comparable living area?
Which would you rather see, a Movie under the Stars, or an Ice skating show?
If you are athletic, or going with people who are, you should take a hard look at the Explorer. With a Basketball court, rock climbing wall, rollerblade area, minigolf area, and the ice skating rink, you may not want to go into port.

On hiatus from cruising, but still very interested!!!
Thanks for the reply's. I really had a great time on princess, but we have seen the movies under the stars which was fantastic. As for right now I think we are heading in the Explorer direction. An ice show would be nice knowing your on the ocean. We like to have alot of things to do, so the bigger the boat the better. I guess my only concern is that i have been on Princess and I know what it was like and was comfortable with it, And i have a fear that one might not be as good as the other but im sure that it would not be like that, how could it be when your cruiseing. Thanks again for your input.
The bigger the ship the less the motion too. It is pretty cool to see the ice shows.
