    Golden Princess vs Ruby Princess

Has anyone ever sailed on both of these ships? We have done the Ruby and it was the very best! We are looking at doing a Hawaii cruise and the Golden has an itinerary we are interested in. Just not sure if she "measures" up to the Ruby.

Hi hanna, I don’t have any personal experience about this cruise, but I saw some online reviews and they were pretty good. You should check out such reviews to get more info. Good luck!

Thanks, I have! I ended up booking Princess Sapphire instead of the Golden. I hope I did the right thing.

That's alright, Hanna. You can't go wrong with any of those Princess ships. The Golden's passenger capacity is slightly less, 2,600 double occp'y, than the Sapphire's,at 2,670 double occp'y.

Joey, I did a lot of reading on both ships and I hope I made the right call also. It's too bad more ships don't do the r/t to Hawaii. I wonder why?

The Golden Princess was refurbished extensively in 2009 to include everything on the Ruby, like Movies Under The Stars(MUTS), The Sanctuary, The Piazza, etc. The Sapphire will be refurbished sometime in 2011. Her sister, Diamond Princess will enter drydock I believe in November this year(2010).

I haven't been on the Golden, but was on the Sapphire when it was brand new (three months old). It's a very roomy ship (I have seen many comments that echo mine that it never feels crowded; except for the gym on a sea day, of course). The decor is beautiful, very sea-oriented decor.
